Cultivate your legal passion with the Advocate in Residence Program

Every young lawyer who dreams of contributing towards positive social impact ultimately encounters the reality that engaging in such work is difficult in the modern legal profession.

Non-profit work can be very selective, and may not have the right focus; corporate work is quite lucrative, but there are few avenues to dedicate time to a specific passion that does not have the promise of immediate financial reward.

This is where the Advocate in Residence Program from Just Atonement Inc. (JAI) comes in.

The Advocate in Residence Program pairs ambitious, creative, and passionate advocates and lawyers with advisory services designed to help get a promising new legal social impact initiative off the ground.

To date, JAI has been able to provide such advisory services to Human Rights Pulse, an up-and-coming venture dedicated to commentary on global human rights issues; and Earth Refuge, a project dedicated to the issue of climate migration.

While advisory services vary from project to project, in general JAI provides startup counseling, access to legal services for necessary contracts and policies, access to online services, and access to funding.

Contact JAI if the Advocate in Residence Program is a good fit for a new social impact initiative.
